Just as a week of nutritious meals nourishes one’s physical body, so a week of feasting upon the word of God nourishes one’s spiritual being.

Great effort is made to recruit teachers and team leaders who are spiritually mature and dedicated to teaching Christian attributes such as honesty, self-control, humility, unselfishness and patience. Campers, especially at youth camps, learn the value of diligence and team work during times of organized recreation.

The camp is equipped with a full-size softball/soccer field, a sand-filled volleyball court, regulation-size basketball half-court, tetherball poles, and horse shoe pits. These things and the surrounding mountains provide ample opportunity for exercise and positive relationship-building.

Small children have sturdy wooden playground equipment and four-square slabs on which they enjoy many hours of playing, climbing, swinging and sliding.

Fellowship and recreation are wonderful but the biggest benefit of a YBC experience is found in drawing closer to God. There is something about being away from the busy, noisy life of the city that is conducive to meditation, Bible study, and prayer. Added to that are numerous opportunities to worship and sing praises — either before classes or while gathered around the flickering flames of the centrally-located campfire.
