The goal of the board is for YBC to continue to have an eternal impact in the lives of families and youths, fostering wholesome relationships with one another while maturing their relationship with the Lord, according to His Word.

We want people of all walks of life and income levels to be able to attend our camps. To this end we keep fees low -- lowest in the U.S., perhaps.

This is possible only because of two factors:

(1) the countless hours donated by hundreds of selfless folks like you who serve over and over: Work Camp cleaners, medics, maintenance crews, lawn-mowers, managers, teachers, speakers, artists, chinkers, surveyor, wood-splitters, cooks, painters, team-leaders, newsletter-folders-staplers-addressers, craftsmen, activities directors, website technician, carpenters, mailing-list guru, registrar, seamstresses, plumbers, roofers, electricians, ... the list has no end;

(2) the countless dollars donated by hundreds of selfless folks like you, from the income God grants you through your hard work.

Because our income-from-fees is considerably less than half our expenses each year, you generous folks from (1) and (2) above make it possible for fees to be kept low, thus helping many others. Amen.

To achieve the camp's goals, the board intends to practice good stewardship by maintaining the camp's facilities in good condition and by looking ahead to make improvements, when possible, such as..

  • Summers '98-'99, a new auditorium was built, greatly improving worship and Bible class facilities.
  • In '02, a new maintenance shop was built and the Jail cabin was completely restored.
  • In '03-'04, total renovation of the Lodge kitchen brought sanitary conditions, stainless steel counters and sinks, a new $10,000 Hobart automatic dishwasher, a new $8,000 convection oven, and new shelving.
  • During '04, the Rose Arbor cabin received much-needed remodeling.
  • During '04-'05, our mid-level facilities/cabins received a sewer-tank-drain-field-waste-processing system meeting legal codes, for about $20,000.
  • During '05, major remodeling came to the Pine cabin's bathroom area.
  • Also in '05, about $5,000 went into new buried electrical service and facilities mainly for the RV park.
  • Some of the other major goals reached by Sojourners and other selfless servants include

    '07 Re-chinking, re-staining and repairing numerous cabins and other structures;

    '08 Acres of forest-fire-preventative hazardous fuels removal;designing, equipping, and routing our YBC brand on two trailers as "YBC Volunteer Fire Dept"; and clearing a path for a new underground powerfull electrical line for our Upper RV Park by a Park Electric crew; steel roofing YBC's barn by a hired crew;

    '09 Completing installation of the new power line; building lean-to's for athletic equipment and YBC's generator;expending the Canteen; adding to the acreage clearedof hazardous materials; construction of earth-toned concrete stairs toward the upper RV park and the barn; and construction of a strong, welded, heavy-duty steel handrail along those concrete steps.
