"The Blessing of Yellowstone Family Camp"
by Ron Carter
"I am writing this just a few short minutes after leaving one of
the family sessions at Yellowstone Bible Camp...located just north of the Wyoming/Montana
border, a few miles from Livingston. As my son and I are going down the road toward home,
we both have mixed emotions... we are looking forward to all of comforts of home. But
because of the spiritual fellowship we experienced at camp, we are also disappointed to
have to say goodbye to the brothers and sisters who shared their week with us.
"It would be very difficult to explain exactly why this week was
such a blessing. It might be one of those things you have to experience to really
understand just why it was so spiritually uplifting.
"There were 129 people in attendance, representing 29
different families. There were a variety of ages, including children as young as six
months and old-timers like me. These families came from as close as Billings, Montana and
as far away as Corona, California.
"In spite of these many different points of origin, there was a
unity that could only happen with people who are determined to please God in everything
they do.
"Mike Christensen, the preacher in Lander, Wyoming, was the manager
of this week (Family Camp III). He is blessed with a wife and partner in Annette, and
together they helped make the week a worthwhile experience for everyone.
"Start making your plans to attend this camp..."

"A Clear Focus"
by Terry Crooks
"... Certain events in life seem important at the time but later
prove to be insignificant. Other events...[later] prove to be critical landmarks, turning
points in life, foundations for stability. A CLEAR FOCUS ON LIFE.
"Many years ago at the State Capitol, while encouraging legislators
to pass laws to protect our children from pornographers, I met a lady not associated with
the church who was supporting pro-family efforts... I mentioned Yellowstone Bible Camp,
and she suddenly got this faraway look in her eye. After a moment of silence, she
explained that years before, her daughter had gone to that camp with a friend, and how that
one week had changed her daughter's life. Before going to camp, the daughter had
been at odds with the family, fighting and frustrated, but on returning after the week,
she came home with a different attitude.
" At camp the daughter had heard and implemented
Christ's ideals into her attitudes and developed a CLEAR FOCUS as to what was important in
life. She had at that time in life turned a corner for being a better person and
brought peace into her relationship with her parents.
"Had the daughter not gone to camp that week, where would
her focus have taken her?
"In the jungle of priorities...parents are bombarded with an
endless parade of opportunities to enrich their children in entertainment, ...
education, ... sports... These opportunities are good, but they will have no bearing on
the child's eternal destiny with God... All life experiences have their fullest meaning
when they fit within God's plan...
"I wish all parents could relate the same success story of
the lady mentioned above...It is clear from scripture that... we must keep the
things of God CLEARLY FOCUSED before them from morning to night every day of their
lives... to love God with all their hearts, souls and minds. (Eph. 6:4, Deut. 6:5-9)...
"I am thankful for the work of Yellowstone Bible Camp...a
constant landmark in the lives of many children. They have walked through its
gates with a clearer focus and stronger commitment to Christ their Lord and their mission
in His service. May God continue to use the camp...May parents continue to see the
camp as a powerful tool and opportunity provided by God to tie the hearts of their
children to the Lord, His people, and His purpose for them... A CLEAR FOCUS ON GOD."
(Our brother Terry, evangelist for the church in Libby, MT, has served
faithfully as the manager of YBC teen camps for many years. He has positively impacted the
lives of many, and for that we are eternally grateful. YBC staff has shortened his
comments and provided emphasis for this website. The entirety was printed in the October,
1999, Yellowstone Bible Camp newsletter.)

"We Never Had a Bummer"
by Clinton and Elga Bolay
Elga and I will not be coming to YBC this year. We are both getting
slower... not up to this trip. Our hearts will always be with you and the great camp. The
several years we came to Montana, we never had a bummer... We still keep in touch with
several families we met and learned to know. We sure thank you from the bottom of our
hearts, and may YBC continue for Christians for years."
